The cedar chest, an antique (1891 at the newest), is full of quilts that were hand-stitched by Jerry's grandmother. On it, left to right, are Charlie, a doll that was given to Mary's grandmother in 1908; Melinda, a doll that was given to Mary in 1957; and Sophy, the first stray cat we adopted after moving to Florida. The fabric covering the table next to the chest is the same fabric used in our living room on the love seat and the “tapestry.”
