Here is a closeup of the hutch doors, showing the living room's watermelon pink more clearly. The hutch backs up to a rather boring bookcase in the kitchen; both of them are where they are to make the nine-foot opening between the kitchen and the dining room a little narrower (i.e., easier to screen off for dinner parties).
