A Dialogue

Why is there evil, hatred, grief, and fright?
Why are there babies hooked on crack cocaine?
Where were you when I created Light?

If you exist, and if you’re not finite,
Then you created war, death, acid rain.
Why is there evil, hatred, grief, and fright?

You must have black in order to see white;
To know what joy is, first you must know pain.
Where were you when I created Light?

A real God surely could do better. I indict:
Job suffered for no good reason. Please explain.
Why is there evil, hatred, grief, and fright?

Without free will, you’d have no wrong or right:
A blissful, robot’s life I’d preordain.
Where were you when I created Light?

Freely choose to love me, love the Height,
And choose to spread this love from plane to plane.
Why is there evil, hatred, grief, and fright?
Where were you when I created Light?
